Silbar Security began in Virginia and has grown into a network of corporate locations and franchise operators serving clients across the United States. We support industries ranging from residential communities and hospitality to retail, construction, and commercial properties.
Founded by law enforcement professionals, we continue to build teams that include veterans, former police officers, and experienced security personnel. Our guiding message has remained the same from the start: “Professional Security Wasn’t Available… So We Fixed It®.”

In 2008, Brandon Dean was a Police K-9 Officer with the City of Norfolk, Virginia, and he saw an industry desperate for change. Tired of watching security companies operate without the discipline of law enforcement, he founded Silbar Security to fix that. His trademarked tagline says it all: “Professional Security Wasn’t Available… So We Fixed It!”
Brandon brought real credentials to the table. During nearly 11 years with the Norfolk Police Department, he served in the Traffic Unit, Motorcycle Unit, Fatality Team, and K-9 Unit, where his partner, Falco, became something of a company legend. He eventually retired early to run Silbar Security full-time alongside his wife, Kandice, whose corporate background gave the company the structure it needed to scale.
After growing through company-owned locations in Virginia, Maryland, and North Carolina, Brandon and Kandice launched the Silbar Security franchise system in 2016. Today, we operate nearly a dozen franchise locations nationwide, with five more in development. The mission: help the right partners, especially veterans, military, and law enforcement, build businesses that deliver both financial reward and personal freedom.
